The stories in this collection of Tomine's early work are more self-conscious and less polished than the ones in Sleepwalk and Other Stories. Still, most of them are quite good and a few, like Smoke and Haircut, are excellent. 32 Stories also includes a short essay about how Optic Nerve got started. Recommended.
