My favorite kind of "how to" book is short, informative, and not condescending. This book is like that, and it's a particularly welcome combination considering the subject matter. I read this book while looking for a house, and found that Irwin often anticipated not only the questions I was asking myself but also the questions real estate agents would ask me. Consequently, more than once I was able to nod knowingly instead of asking a naive question when confronted with a new situation or term. It also helped us figure out which of the many possibly irrelevant details of the home-buying process to pay attention to and which to blow off. Recommended.
