Since I had pleasant memories of reading The Clock of Dreams as a child, I thought it might be worth rereading. Unfortunately, I was wrong -- this is a tremendously bad book that I only finished because I read it on a plane flight. Lumley appears able to imitate the bad aspects of Lovecraft's style while missing the good aspects.
