I thought Lovecraft was great when I was in high school, but found that I have a much lower tolerance for him now. This is a fun story, but it's too long and only so and so many things can be unspeakable, unmentionable, unnamable, sanity-damaging, spoken of only in hushed tones, etc., before I get fed up. Show, don't tell! Better Lovecraft is out there, but it's been so long since I've read it that I can't remember the titles.
