This is a collection of around 40 bite-sized chapters about the increasing pace of life over the past few centuries. Unfortunately, Faster is a fairly superficial book -- it's all about how things are getting faster, only touching on why in a couple of places. What the book does do well is tie together diverse consequences of our increasing awareness of time in an entertaining and thought-provoking way. |
