book 4 of The Dune Series
I remember being unimpressed with this book when I first read it around 15 years ago. After rereading, I find that opinion to be unjustified; it is a worthy successor to the first three Dune books. This one takes place 3500 years later, when Leto's transformation into a sandworm is almost complete. The tension is caused by an odd love triangle between Leto, a Duncan Idaho, and the Ixian ambassador Hwi Noree. Good SF.
