How to Think About Statistics

How to Think About Statistics is a book for undergraduates who need to know statistics but haven't had a course in it. I read it because it's been a while since I had a stats class (and the one that I took wasn't very good). Because it concentrates on clear, functional explanations of the concepts and avoids most of the math, How to Think is a useful introduction or review. As such, it's pretty limited in scope and never gets into much detail about the kinds of statistics that one would need to know in order to design experiments and examine the resulting data. Still, I'd recommend this as an introduction or refresher for the statistically challenged.
