Borges writes beautiful, metaphysical pieces of speculative fiction. The Library of Babel is about an information theorist's nightmare: a library that contains every possible book (note that with about five minutes and a good random number generator, you can duplicate this library on a computer). Pierre Menard, Author of the Quixote is about a man who, centuries after Cervantes, writes Don Quixote. Unfortunately, The Aleph is missing from this collection. |
