There is no single best programming language for creating embedded systems: people use mainstream languages like C, C++, and Java, niche languages like Esterel, as well as hardware description languages such as Verilog and VHDL. Edwards' book surveys the important features of each of these languages and a few others. The best thing about this book is that it brings together useful information that would be hard to acquire otherwise. |
