I haven't read this book cover-to-cover, although I've read the text sections and tried out a number of the recipes. This is a good cookbook; the descriptions are clear, the pictures are mouth-watering, and most ingredients are translated into readily available western counterparts. It was recommended to me by an Indian friend who says that the recipes are fairly authentic.

My only complaint about Indian Cooking is the quality of the binding; the pages of my copy are starting to separate in several places even though I've been careful not to press the book flat (which is something that you should be able to do to a cookbook). Other than that, highly recommended.
