Microserfs is an homage to the hacker lifestyle. Coupland seems to get it -- this is amazing, since as far as I know, he's nontechnical. It follows a group of nerdy but hip Microsoft employed roommates as they escape from the evil empire and form a startup in silicon valley. Perceptive and often hilarious, Microserfs is a worthy successor to Generation X.
