It's unfortunate that you have to go to a comic book store to buy Moonshadow, since the only similarity between it and superhero comics is that they both combine pictures and words on the same page. Moonshadow is a coming-of-age story; it's often farcical, but always serious underneath. DeMatteis's writing and Muth's painting fit together perfectly. Highly recommended.
