This is an oral history of punk rock, composed entirely of fragments from hundreds of interviews with the musicians, roadies, groupies, managers, and whoever else had something interesting to say. The stories they tell are blunt, often contradictory, and sometimes hilarious. They bring across the insanity of the scene in a way that would have been difficult or impossible otherwise. I had a hard time getting into Please Kill Me, but once I did I was hooked. Highly recommended to anybody with even a passing interest in punk. |
