subject: Fiction and Literature, Drama
finished: 11/1/1998

Although one might say that there are no bad reasons to read Hamlet, I'm a bit embarrassed to say that the reason I finally picked it up was so that Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead would make sense. The play revolves around the R&G's plight -- they're minor characters, kept in the dark, and destined for an untimely death. As in Arcadia, the dialogue is entertaining and very clever. Recommended.
