Stranger Things Happen is a wonderful collection of odd, creepy stories that remind me a little of Jonathan Carroll's work and a lot of Gene Wolfe's. In most of the stories a mundane person is confronted with something bizarre or supernatural. Many of the stories are slyly funny, but humor isn't really the point -- rather, the stories are explicitly about love and death. Recommended.
