All fourteen stories in this collection were good; I really enjoyed the variety of subjects and styles, and the sense of humor. I was reminded from time to time of Paul Auster, Borges, Calvino, and Donald Barthelme. Invisible Malls is a creative (if overly cute) play on Calvino's Invisible Cities, No Grace on the Road is a powerful but slightly overdone tale of an American-educated Asian's encounter with a destitute family, and The Republic of St. Mark, 1849 is just excellent.
