book 1 of The Time Quartet by Madeline L'Engle
isbn: 0440498058
Meg and her brother Charles Wallace have several problems: Meg is unpopular and has trouble in school, people think Charles Wallace is slow, and their father has been missing for some time. Their problems seem less important, however, after a visit by the strange Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Which, and Mrs. Who -- the children learn about a cosmic battle between good and evil, that their father is somehow involved, and that they are to rescue him. In a nutshell, A Wrinkle in Time is an adventure story about self-discovery and good vs. evil, with Christian overtones and a good message about conformity. Recommended. |
