Writing Solid Code

When I first heard about this book a few years ago, I found it ironic that a Microsoft programmer would write a book about solid code. Since then I have been assimilated, and now see the error of my ways. Seriously, though -- this is a good book for programmers to read; it talks how to develop and maintain the kind of coding habits that are mandatory for anybody writing large software in C. Unfortunately, a lot of the advice is C-specific: the book would have been much shorter if it talked about a language that wasn't so negligent in protecting the programmer from stupid mistakes. So, I recommend this book to C programmers who spend more time debugging than they'd like to.
